Tile Roofs
Long ago, and far away clay was discovered to be an ideal roofing material. Or maybe it was the only roofing material available. The first tiles were formed by pressing the clay over the thigh. It would shape into a tapered concave.

Once dried, they would set one face up, making a channel. Then another tile faced down to enclose any openings.
Presto, you have a roof system.
Of course many changes have developed over the centuries, what hasn’t changed is the outstanding character that comes with any tile roofs.
