Flashings & Valleys
Slate and tile roofs have all kinds of different slopes, angles, , turns and twists. |

Dormers, bays, parapet wall, additions, turrets, pockets, valleys. |

These areas have to join the roof, and they need to be joined in a water tight, snow tight, ice tight manner. |

All these different areas are usually referred to as flashings or valleys. Ideally these consist of copper, but not always. Sometimes there galvanized steel, aluminum, lead, or even tar. |

This area can be costly to replace. We call them “knuckle busters”
